The Optical Measurements Laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art non-contact instrumentation for structural dynamics and statics measurements. These currently include three laser Doppler vibrometers (Polytec PDV100, PSV300 and PSV400) as well as a GOM and Image Systems TEMA Photogrammetry system. Research is currently underway into Eulerian video analysis, optical flow analysis and sloshing.
The Optics lab can be sealed off from natural light when high-speed image measurements are done. High illumination LED lights is also used to obtain optical lighting conditions for high-speed image collection.
