The Optics Lab

The Optics lab can be isolated from natural light and light can be controlled by special artificial lights that does not carry the 50 Hz line frequency typically assocciated with normal electrical lights. This controlled lighting is essential for high speed image capturing rendered by the labs digital image correlation system GOM. The labs Photogrammetry (digital image correlation) capability includes ARAMIS (full field stress and strain calculations) and PONTOS ( full field displacement calculations).
