We are proud of having a Botanical garden on the lab's doorstep! Personnel and students alike love enjoying a break (normally with a cup of steaming coffee in hand) on the benches in front of the lab's entrance.
The garden offers an impressive variety of trees (all marked with informative name-plates) , plants and more than 40 documented Birds species of which many are resident in the garden.
Whether you seek a spot where you can enjoy a coffee break, a lunch break or just a place to have an informal meeting with your colleagues and friends, the Botanical garden is the ideal place. There are two areas that you can use, on the three benches under the Weeping Wattles (Peltophorum Africanum) [Huilboom] or on the garden bench-table under the Natal Wild Fig (Ficus Natalensus) [Wildevy], a huge tree forming a canopy of 18 m!
